First Joint Call for Scientific Research Projects of Russian and Uganda

Continuing the work aimed at implementation of the Comprehensive Approach concept in developing of relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uganda introduced by the Intergovernmental Commission, the Ministry Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation together with the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation of the Republic of Uganda on July 31, 2019 officially started joint call for research in the field of the agricultural sciences. From the Russian side the joint call is conducted within the frames of the Federal Target Program of the Russian Federation named Research and Development in the Priority Spheres of Science and Technical Complex Evolution in 2014-2020. The Ministry of Science and Higher Education provided to the Russian researchers for the scientific activities in 2019 and 2020 USD 476,000.00 and the Ugandan side will provide the same amount to fund their participants.

The Joint Call is aimed at conducting joint research in agriculture by scientific, research and educational organizations of the two countries. Private companies are also welcome to invest in these activities as the source of non-governmental funding to share the results of the research and apply them in their businesses.
